Hakubun Shimomura

Hakubun Shimomura (born 23 May 1954) was a Japanese LDP politician who served as a member of the House of Representatives for Tokyo's 11th electoral district from 20 October 1996.

Biography[]

Hakubun Shimomura was born in Takasaki, Gunma Prefecture, Japan in 1954, and he was first elected to the city assembly in 1989 and to the House of Representatives in 1996. He was affiliated with the reactionary and nationalist Nippon Kaigi organization, and he denied that the Imperial Japanese Army was involved in the recruitment of "comfort women", while also supporting nuclear power and holding hostile views towards China and South Korea.
