The Haitian Mob is a Haitian and Haitian-American criminal organization that operates in the centers of the Haitian diaspora in the USA and Canada, with its main base being in New Orleans, Louisiana, Miami, Florida, and other parts of the American South in the United States and in Montreal in Canada. The Haitian Mob came into existence during the late 1950s and early 1960s after many hardened Haitian criminals arrived in the USA during a mass exodus of Haitian refugees fleeing Francois Duvalier's dictatorial rule. The gang was initially enemies with the Black Mob due to the Haitian Mob's opposition to Sammy Robinson's alliance with the American Mafia, and the Black Mob killed its leader Baka in an attack on an abandoned salt miners' camp in the Bayou Fantom in 1968 during a gang war. However, Lincoln Clay, one of the last members of the former Black Mob after Sal Marcano's betrayal and murder of Robinson, decided to ally with the Haitians to destroy the Marcano crime family. With the help of Cassandra, the feared Haitian leader, Clay was able to destroy the Dixie Mafia and several other allies of the Marcanos, and the Haitian Mob gained control over Delray Hollow as a result of its alliance with Clay. In Montreal, the Haitians became a major part of the Rizzuto crime family's drug-dealing nexus, as they were responsible for the street-level operations by the 1990s. From 1995 to 1996, their leader Papa Lou went to war with the Irish Mob, but Vito Rizzuto brokered a ceasefire and united all the gangs into one syndicate.
