Haitham al-Mahfouz (1155-1191) was an Ayyubid guard captain in the city of Jerusalem at the time of the Third Crusade. In 1191, he and his guards assaulted scholar Yaqoob el-Muhammad in the Rich District of Jerusalem, leading to the Hashshashin member Altair Ibn-La'Ahad intervening. Altair slew all of the guards, and el-Muhammad and his fellow scholars rewarded him with their assistance.
