Haie Westhus (1900-1918) was an Imperial German Army private who was killed in action while serving on the Western Front of World War I.

Biography[]

Haie Westhus was born in Germany in 1900, and he worked as a peat-digger before enlisting in the Imperial German Army during World War I. In 1918, he was assigned to Lieutenant Stanislaus Katzinsky's 2nd Company on the front lines of France, serving alongside several student volunteers, including Albert Kropp, Paul Baumer, Friedrich Muller, Franz Kemmerich, Peter Leer, and Joseph Behm. During the Hundred Days Offensive, he was shot through the chest and killed.
