Hafiz Gul Bahadur

Hafiz Gul Bahadur (born 1961) is the Naib Amir (Vice-President) of the Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan militant group in Pakistan.

Biography[]

Hafiz Gul Bahadur was born in Multan to the Madda Khel clan of the Uthmanzai Waziri tribe of Pakistan, and in the 1980s he joined the Soviet-Afghan War as a Mujahideen fighter. He assisted the Taliban takeover of Afghanistan in the 1990s and in August 2001 he enlisted 4,000 troops to prevent the United Nations monitoring of arms trafficking between Afghanistan and Pakistan. He was made the Naib Amir (Vice-President) of the Taliban in Pakistan from December 2007 to 2008, but later founded the Muqami Tehrik-e Taliban along with Maulvi Nazir
