Hadash is a communist political party in Israel that was founded in 1977. "Hadash" is the Hebrew acronym for the Democratic Front for Peace and Equality, the party's official name. Hadash's goal is to create a secular country that protects both Arab and Jewish interests, and it supports a two-state solution to the Israel-Palestine conflict. Within Hadash, the Israeli Communist Party maintained its independent status; Hadash itself was a member of Joint List. In 2017, Hadash had 5/120 Knesset seats.
