Hacim Muhiddin Bey (1881-5 December 1965) was a Turkish bey who fought in the Arab Revolt of World War I.
Biography[]
Hacim Muhiddin was born in Usak and was educated at the Mulkiye Mektebi university in Ankara, and was a general and bey (high-ranking governor) of the Ottoman Empire's Bursa Province during World War I. In the 1918 campaigns of the Arab Revolt, he captured Lawrence of Arabia, leader of the Arabs against their Ottoman Turkish overlords, and saw to it that he was subject to torture. He was also a figure in the Armenian Genocide.
During the Turkish War of Independence, Muhiddin commanded a Turkish army in the Inner Aegean Theatre from Izmir, assisting in the defeat of the Greek invasion. He was a member of the First Grand National Assembly from 1920 to 1923.
