
Haakon Magnusson of Norway (1069-6 June 1094) was King of Norway from 22 September 1093 to 6 June 1094, succeeding Olaf III of Norway and preceding Magnus III of Norway.
Biography[]
Haakon Magnusson was born in Norway in 1069, the son of Magnus II of Norway and the grandson of Harald Hardrada. He took part in a Viking expedition to Arkhangelsk in 1090, and he became King of Norway in 1093 on the death of his uncle Olaf III of Norway. He was hailed King of Norway in Trondheim, while his cousin was declared Magnus III of Norway in Viken. Haakon died while marching to meet Magnus in battle, and Magnus became the new king.
