The HMS Katherine was an English royal yacht built in 1674 for King Charles II of England. Charles was one of the first to use yachts strictly for racing, encouraging English shipbuilders to make improvements on the original Dutch vessels. He named his yacht after his wife Catherine of Braganza, although he frequently used his yacht for his extramarital affairs.
