HMS Rapture was a British Royal Navy man o' war that was built in Kingston, Jamaica in 1710 during the War of the Spanish Succession. The ship was sent to patrol the waters of the southern Caribbean Sea and to fight against Great Britain's maritime enemies - first Spain, then the pirates. In April 1717, privateer Edward Kenway and his brig, the Jackdaw, attacked the ship and its three brig escorts as it sailed off Ile a Vache in Haiti, being paid to do so by the Dutch merchant Milo van der Graff. Kenway succeeded in incapacitating the ship before boarding it and killing its captain, Henry Trevorrow, and he had the ship's goods and materials salvaged to repair the Jackdaw before scuttling it.
