Guy Aldonce de Durfort de Lorges (22 August 1630-22 October 1702) was a Marshal of France under King Louis XIV of France.
Biography[]
Guy Aldonce de Durfoort de Lorges was born in 1630, the nephew of the Vicomte de Turenne and the brother of Jacques Henri de Durfort de Duras. During the War of the Grand Alliance, he led the French army in Germany from 1690 to 1695, and he captured Heidelberg in 1693. In 1702, he died during a painful and failed surgery to remove a kidney stone, showing bravery as he died.
