Gustavo "Gus" Fring (26 April 1958 - 15 July 2009) was a Chilean-American businessman and the CEO of Los Pollos Hermanos. Secretly, however, Fring was the ruthless leader of the methamphetamine-producing Fring Cartel, using Los Pollos Hermanos as a front for the smuggling and sale of meth across the United States.

However, Fring was assassinated by Walter White, his former head meth cook, and Hector Salamanca, a Vuente Cartel enforcer who murdered Fring's business partner and lover Max Arciniega; White rigged Salamanca's wheelchair with a pipe bomb, with Salamanca activating the pipe bomb and killing himself, Fring, and Fring's bodyguard Tyrus Kitt.
