Gunter "the Wolf" Krist (1888-1943) was a German Wehrmacht general during World War II.

Biography[]

Gunter Krist was born in Germany in 1888, and he served in the Imperial German Army during World War I before rising in the ranks to become a Wehrmacht general. During the occupation of Paris in World War II, Krist was given command of the industrial sector of Paris' garrison, and he was nicknamed "the Wolf" by the French Resistance for hunting down its members. Krist engaged in an affair with Resistance leader Duval Mingo's fiancee Francine Martin, and Krist convinced Martin to sell out the Resistance and become a Nazi informant. Mingo later had his associate Sean Devlin assassinate Martin to avenge her affair and her betrayal, and Devlin was then sent to kill Krist. The French launched an assault on Krist's base in Montparnasse, and Devlin killed Krist during the battle.
