Guido Vildoso

Guido Vildoso (5 April 1937-) was President of Bolivia from 21 July 1982 to 10 October 1982, succeeding Celso Torrelio and preceding Hernan Siles.

Biography[]

Guido Vildoso was born on 5 April 1937 in La Paz, Bolivia, and he served in the Bolivian Army after being trained in Brazil, Panama, and the United States. In July 1982, he became the temporary President of Bolivia after Celso Torrelio entrusted him with overseeing the country's transition to democracy, and he chose to use the results from the 1980 elections to choose the next president. Hernan Siles became president, but Vildoso was still booed at the ceremony of Siles' nomination despite his role in the restoration of democracy.
