Green politics is a leftist political ideology that promotes the creation of an "ecologically sustainable society rooted in environmentalism, nonviolence, social justice, and grassroots democracy", according to Wikipedia . Green politics tend to align towards the left wing of politics due to shared interests in progressivism, peace movements, feminism, environmentalism, conservation, and ecology, and green parties typically oppose globalization due to its negative effect on the environment, as well as opposing nuclear energy in favor of renewable energy and supporting pacifism and civil rights. However, there are green conservative and capitalist ideologies that differ from the typical leftist form of green politics, which includes green variants of socialism and liberalism. Since the 1970s, green parties have had a significant presence in Western politics, achieving some electoral success across the world.
