The Green Party of England and Wales (GPEW) is a green political party in England and Wales that was founded in 1990. The party was created after the division of the existing UK Green Party, and its ideology combined environmentalism with left-wing economic policies such as well-funded and locally-controlled public services; proportional representation; progressive policies concerning civil liberties, animal rights, gay rights, and drug policy reform; nonviolence; basic income; a living wage; and democratic participation.
