The Government of National Salvation was a Serbian puppet government that existed from 29 August 1941 to October 1944, with Belgrade serving as its capital. The regime was installed by Nazi Germany during its occupation of Yugoslavia during World War II, and it was appointed by the German military commander in Serbia. Milan Nedic served as the regime's Prime Minister, and the regime cooperated with the Chetniks in the fight against the communist Yugoslav Partisans. In October 1944, as the Germans evacuated from the Balkans, the government fled to Sofia, Budapest, and then Kitzbuehel.
