Goto Mitsutoshi was a Japanese ronin who lived in Bakumatsu-era Kochi, Tosa Domain. In 1862, he and his band of criminals pretended to be Tosa Loyalist Party members and extorted local shopkeepers. When they tried to extort Takano Mochinori, however, they were beaten down by Sakamoto Ryoma, who forced them to quit their act.
