Goryu-kai

The Goryu-kai was a subsidiary of the Omi Alliance yakuza organization of Japan, founded by Jin Goda. It was based out of the Dotonbori district of Osaka, and it became one of the most prominent organizations within the Omi Alliance. Jin's adoptive son Ryuji Goda became the patriarch of the clan on his father's retirement, but Jin attempted to control his son's actions. In 2005, the Goryu-kai allied with the Ministry Bureau of Investigation to steal Tokyo from the Tojo-kai, but Kazuma Kiryu foiled this plot. In 2006, Goryu-kai assassins killed Tojo-kai chairman Yukio Terada to provoke a war between the Omi Alliance and Tojo-kai, and Ryuji rebelled against his father in order to seize direct control of the clan. The war resulted in the deaths of Jin and Ryuji Goda alike, and the clan collapsed as a result.
