
Gordon Getty (20 December 1933-) was an American businessman, investor, philanthropist, and classical musical composer. He was the fourth son of J. Paul Getty, and he assumed control of Getty's $2 billion trust on his father's death in 1976.

Gordon Getty was born in Los Angeles, California in 1933, the fourth son of oil businessman J. Paul Getty. He was raised in San Francisco, and he assumed control of his father's company's $2 billion oil trust on his father's death in 1976. He became one of the United States' leading venture capitalists and philanthropists, and he sold Getty Oil to Texaco in 1986 for $10 billion. He became a major fundraiser for Democratic Party candidates, including Nancy Pelosi, Willie Brown, Gavin Newsom, and John Kerry, and he also became a classical musical composer.
