Gonzalo Cordova (15 July 1863-13 April 1928) was President of Ecuador from 1 September 1924 to 9 July 1925, succeeding Jose Luis Tamayo and preceding Luis Telmo Paz y Miño.
Biography[]
Gonzalo Cordova was born in Guayaquil, Ecuador, and he practiced law and served as a diplomat before being elected President in 1924. He was regarded as a puppet of coastal agricultural and banking plutocrats, and popular unrest - together with an economic crisis and Cordova's poor health - led to Cordova's overthrow by Luis Telmo Paz y Miño in 1925.
