Gongsun Zan (?-199) was the Prefect of Bei Ping for the Later Han Dynasty and studied together with Liu Bei under Lu Zhi. Once, he led an elite army composed of troops from Bai Ma, earning him the nickname "The General of Bai Ma". He displayed his skills in the Yellow Turban Campaign, but was later defeated by Yuan Shao.
