Golmad (died 9 AD) was the Reik (Chief) of the Germanic Bructeri from 9 AD, succeeding Kunolf the Brukteer.
Biography[]
Golmad was born in present-day North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany to the Bructeri tribe. He served under Reik Kunolf the Brukteer as a warrior, and, in 9 AD, he opposed Kunolf's betrayal of Folkwin Wolfspeer and his friends, as Kunolf killed the half-Bructerian Berulf, and Folkwin was associated with a reputed seer, Thusnelda. Golmad succeeded Kunolf as Reik after Folkwin and Thusnelda avenged Berulf's death, and he offered a few hundred warriors to Arminius' Germanic alliance as he prepared for war with the Romans. Golmad fought in the ensuing Battle of the Teutoburg Forest, during which he was slain while fighting bravely.
