Godwine

Godwine (born 1051) was an Anglo-Saxon King of England from 1066 to 1068.

Biography[]

Godwine was the successor of King Harold Godwinson, succeeding him upon his death in the Battle of Hastings. Godwine was young when he became the king, with poor command, no chivalry or piety, and low authority. William the Conqueror and his Norman army easily conquered London from the Anglo-Saxons, and Godwine was killed.
