Glouvia

Glouvia was a Romano-British kingdom of Sub-Roman Britain which existed from 437 to 577, with Glevum (Gloucester) serving as its capital. Glouvia was founded in the aftermath of the end of Roman rule in Britain, during which all Roman Army forces and many societal leaders withdrew from Britannia. The Roman-influenced, interconnected, and intermixed Celtic Britons of Glevum established a new kingdom which came to be ruled by Ambrosius Aurelianus from 442 to 475, Agricola from 475 to 503, Justinus from 503 to 520, and Aurelius Conanus from 520 onwards. The kingdom was conquered by Wessex after the Battle of Deorham in 577, permanently dividing the Welsh Britons from those in South West England.
