Gloucester Point is a census-designated place in Gloucester County, Virginia. Located across from Yorktown, Gloucester Point served as British general Charles Cornwallis' only escape route during the 1781 Siege of Yorktown, but a squall prevented Cornwallis from evacuating his army from Yorktown to Gloucester Point, sealing his fate.
