
Glenn Lewis Frey (6 November 1948-18 January 2016) was an American rock singer-songwriter and cofounded of the rock band Eagles. Born in Detroit, Michigan and raised in Royal Oak, he became a musician in 1966 and moved to Los Angeles in 1968. He met Don Henley in 1970 and cofounded the Eagles in 1971, singing the lead vocals on "Take It Easy", "Peaceful Easy Feeling", "Already Gone", "Tequila Sunrise", "Lyin' Eyes", "New Kid in Town", "Heartache Tonight" and "How Long". He died of pneumonia in 2016 at the age of 67.
Frey was, like Henley, an active Democrat; in 2018, he made donations to the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee, the Nevada Democratic Party, the Democratic National Committee, and the Committee for Change.
