Giza 2024

Giza is the third-largest city in Egypt and the capital of Giza Governorate. During Antiquity, Giza was a desert region of central Egypt, located on the western bank of the Nile, and it was home to a pyramid complex built by Pharaoh Khufu from 2580 to 2560 BC. Giza was originally the necropolis of nearby Memphis, the Old Kingdom capital of Egypt. A city was founded at Giza by the Muslim Rashidun Caliphate in 642 AD, and it became a thriving center of Egyptian culture and a heavily-populated area. In 2018, Giza had a population of 8,800,000 people.
