Gisela Castro Medina (2002-) was Chair of the University of St. Thomas College Republicans and alleged sex trafficker. Born in Medina, Minnesota and schooled in Delano, she studied law and business at the University of St. Thomas, where she became involved in Republican politics. She worked for Republican strategist Tony Lazzaro, who met his girlfriend (who was twelve years younger than him) through Medina, who had become a close friend of his. On 12 August 2021, she and Lazzaro were indicted on multiple federal offenses, including obstruction of justice, sex trafficking, and conspiracy to commit the sex trafficking of underage victims, as, from May to December 2020, she reportedly aided Lazzaro in soliciting six underage victims to engage in commercial sex acts. She was arrested in Oskaloosa County, Florida on 13 August 2021 and made her initial court appearance on 16 August.
