Giovanni Battista Zeno (1440-7 May 1501) was a Cardinal of the Catholic Church.

Biography[]

Giovanni Battista Zeno was born in Venice, Republic of Venice in 1440, and he was a relative of Pope Eugene IV and Pope Paul II. He became a canon of St. Peter's Basilica in Rome and became a protonotary apostolic. In 1468, Pope Paul II made him a Cardinal in the consistory, and he became Bishop of Vicenza in 1470. He built and restored several churches in Rome, Verona, and Cremona, and he participated in several papal conclaves. On 8 May 1501, he was poisoned in Padua.
