Giorgi Marcano was the Underboss of the Marcano crime family of the American Mafia. Marcano was the son of Don Sal Marcano, and both Giorgi and his father were murdered by Lincoln Clay during an attack on the unfinished Marcano casino in New Orleans.
Biography[]
Giorgi Marcano was the son of Sal Marcano, the boss of the Italian-American Marcano crime family, and he was raised in New Orleans, Louisiana. He was groomed to take over the family when his father died, and he wanted to modernize the family as times changed. Marcano was close friends with Lincoln Clay, a black mob member who sometimes worked for the Marcano family as an associate, and the two of them robbed a Federal Reserve Bank in New Orleans on Mardi Gras in February 1968. Marcano and his father attempted to convince Clay to betray his boss Sammy Robinson and take over Algiers, but Clay refused; after the robbery, the Marcanos visited Sammy's bar, supposedly to celebrate. However, Marcano shot Clay in the head and executed Danny Burke before burning the bar down. Lincoln barely survived, with the bullet keeping him in bed for several months. Clay would embark on a quest for revenge against the Marcanos due to their betrayal and the murder of his friends.
Downfall[]
Giorgi Marcano was involved in planning out operations against Lincoln Clay during the 1968 gang war, and Giorgi himself would slit his aunt Olivia Marcano's throat in the hospital. Not long after, Clay would decide to come for the father and son themselves, and Sal Marcano had Giorgi call up the last members of the Marcano family to defend the hotel. Clay shot his way through the last of the Marcanos' hitmen before finding Giorgi Marcano in his office, and he proceeded to wound him. Lincoln angrily confronted Giorgi, who told him that he was only trying to stay loyal to his father, just as Clay had been fiercely loyal to Sammy Robinson. Clay proceeded to run Marcano through the abdomen with a knife, killing his former friend.
