Gino Amato

Gino Amato (1909-December 1945) was a caporegime of the Tattaglia crime family.

Biography[]

Gino Amato was born in Partinico, Sicily in 1909, and he later emigrated to the United States, settling in New York City. Amato became a member of the Tattaglia crime family of the American Mafia, rising to the rank of caporegime. In December 1945, he took part in the assassination attempt on Corleone crime family boss Vito Corleone, and he was shot in the head by Corleone enforcer Aldo Trapani after he took Frances Malone hostage.
