Gideon Olin (2 November 1743 – 21 January 1823) was a member of the US House of Representatives (DR-VT 1) from 4 March 1803 to 3 March 1807, succeeding Israel Smith and preceding James Witherell.

Biography[]

Gideon Olin was born in East Greenwich, Rhode Island in 1743, and he settled in Shaftsbury, Vermont in 1776 and became one of the founders of the state. He took part in the formation of the Vermont Republic and served in the State House and as a judge before serving in the US House of Representatives from 1803 to 1807. He died in 1823.
