Gianfranco Miglio (11 January 1918-10 August 2001) was an Italian politician from Lega Nord and the Federalist Party of Italy, the latter of which he founded in 2004.
Biography[]
Gianfranco Miglio was born in Como, Italy in 1918, and he presided over the political science faculty at Milan's Catholic University for over 30 years. In 1992, he was elected to the Senate to represent Lombardy for Lega Nord, but he founded the Federalist Party of Italy splintergroup in 1994, and remained Senator until his death. Miglio advocated for federalism and libertarianism, and he was nicknamed "the Professor" by Umberto Bossi's supporters.
