Giacomo Galasi

Giacomo Galasi was an inhabitant of Rapallo in the Republic of Genoa. In 1494, he survived the massacre and sacking of his town by King Charles VIII of France's Swiss Pikemen, although his family was massacred (including his young boy). Galasi was left alive and sent to Rome to warn Pope Alexander VI that the city would meet the same fate if he did not surrender to the French.
