
Gholam-Hossein Mohseni-Eje'i (1956-) was an Iranian politician who served as Attorney-General, Minister of Intelligence, and Deputy Chief Justice during his long political career.
Biography[]
Gholam-Hossein Mohseni-Eje'i was born in Isfahan, Iran in 1956, and he was educated by Mohammad-Taqi Mesbah-Yazdi at the Haqqani school in Qom. From 1984 to 1985, he led the Ministry of Intelligence's select committee, and he was elected Minister of Intelligence by 217 votes on 24 August 2005. On 26 July 2009, he was abruptly dismissed for unknown reasons, but on 24 August 2009 he took office as Attorney-General of Iran, a post that he held until 23 August 2014; he then became Deputy Chief Justice. Mohseni-Eje'i's fall from grace occurred due to the violent protests that left many people dead in 2009, and he seemed to have been demoted when he was made Deputy Chief Justice.
