Gheorghe Dobre (2 September 1885-26 March 1959) was a General of Army Corps of Romania during World War II.
Biography[]
Gheorghe Dobre was born on 2 September 1885 in Oltenita, Romania. He served in the Romanian Army and served as Minister of Production from 16 September 1942 to 23 August 1944 under Generalissimus Ion Antonescu. Dobre was promoted to a General of Army Corps in 1943, and he fought in World War II. In 1946, he was sentenced to penal servitude for life by the communist government that took power after the war's end, and he died in prison in 1959.
