The 8th Army was a German field army during World War II. In 1939, the army was formed with Johannes Blaskowitz as its commander, and it took part in the invasion of Poland. After the conclusion of the campaign, it was reorganized into the German 2nd Army for the Battle of France, but it was reformed in 1943 after the Battle of Kursk. In 1945, the army, commanded by Hans Kreysing, surrendered in Austria.
