The 352nd Infantry Division was a division of the German Heer that was active from November 1943 to 8 May 1945 during World War II. The division was formed in occupied France from experienced Eastern Front veterans, the remnants of disbanded or worn-out divisions, young German conscripts, and a significant number of Ost volunteers. The division was stationed in Normandy at the time of Operation Overlord, and it was shattered in the fighting of June-July 1944. By 30 July, its survivors were amalgamated into various ad hoc battle groups and other divisions. It was reformed as the 352nd Volksgrenadier Division in September 1944 and fought in the Battle of the Bulge and at Trier and the Moselle until March 1945, when its remnants escaped across the Rhine to form a battlegroup at Worms. This group surrendered near Darmstadt at the end of the war.
