Germaine Lindsay

Germaine Lindsay (23 September 1985 – 7 July 2005) was a member of al-Qaeda from Jamaica who was one of the suicide bombers in the 7/7 attacks of 7 July 2005 in London, United Kingdom.

Biography[]

Germaine Lindsay was born on 23 September 1985 in Jamaica, but his family moved to Dalton, West Yorkshire when he was five. Lindsay converted to Islam in 2001 after his mother converted and told him to also do so, and he married Muslim convert Samantha Lewthwaite of Northern Ireland in 2002. He met with Mohammad Sidique Khan and joined his radical Islamist cell, planning to carry out attacks against the United Kingdom in London. On 7 July 2005 he detonated his explosive vest on the Picadilly line train between King's Cross St. Pancras tube station and Russell Square, killing 26, the most amount of casualties inflicted by any of the four suicide bombers.
