George Williams Cassidy (25 April 1836-24 June 1892) was a member of the US House of Representatives (D-NV AL) from 4 March 1881 to 3 March 1885, succeeding Rollin M. Daggett and preceding William Woodburn.

Biography[]

George Williams Cassidy was born in Paris, Kentucky in 1836, and he was raised in Missouri. Cassidy moved to California in 1857 and engaged in gold mining before working as a journalist for the Meadow Lake Sun and relocating to Treasure City, Nevada and Hamilton to work for papers there. In 1870, he moved to Eureka, and he served in the state senate from 1872 to 1879, in the US House of Representatives from 1881 to 1885, and as a national bank examiner from 1886 to 1890. He died in Reno in 1892.
