George Washington Emery Dorsey (25 January 1842-12 June 1911) was a member of the US House of Representatives (R-NE 3) from 4 March 1885 to 3 March 1891, succeeding Edward K. Valentine and preceding Omer M. Kem. Born in Loudoun County, Virginia and raised in Preston County, he served in the 6th West Virginia Infantry Regiment during the American Civil War before becoming a lawyer in Fremont, Nebraska and serving in Congress. He later became a miner in Nevada and Utah, and he died in Salt Lake City in 1911.
