
George Townsend (1769-17 August 1844) was a member of the US House of Representatives (DR-NY 1) from 4 March 1815 to 3 March 1819, succeeding John Lefferts and Ebenezer Sage and preceding Silas Wood and James Guyon Jr..
Biography[]
George Townsend was born in Lattingtown, New York in 1769, and he worked as a farmer in Oyster Bay before serving in the US House of Representatives from 1815 to 1819. He died in 1844.
