George Robison Black (24 March 1835-3 November 1886) was a member of the US House of Representatives (D-GA 1) from 4 March 1881 to 3 March 1883, interrupting John C. Nicholls' terms.
Biography[]
George Robison Black was born in Jacksonboro, Georgia in 1835, the son of Edward Junius Black. He practiced law in Savannah before serving as lieutenant-colonel of the 63rd Georgia Infantry Regiment during the American Civil War. After the war, he served in the state senate from 1875 to 1877 and in the US House of Representatives from 1881 to 1883, and he died in Sylvania in 1886.
