George Robertson Dennis (8 April 1822-13 August 1882) was a Democratic US Senator from Maryland from 4 March 1873 to 3 March 1879, succeeding George Vickers and preceding James Black Groome.
Biography[]
George Robertson Dennis was born in Whitehaven, Maryland in 1822, and he practiced law in Kingston for many years. He served in the State Senate in 1854 and 1871 and in the House of Delegates in 1867, and he served in the US Senate from 1873 to 1879. He died in 1882.
