George Jackson (9 January 1757 – 17 May 1831) was a member of the US House of Representatives (DR-VA 3) from 4 March 1795 to 3 March 1797 (succeeding Joseph Neville and preceding James Machir) and from 4 March 1799 to 3 March 1803 (succeeding Machir and preceding John Smith).
Biography[]
George Jackson was born in Cecil County, Maryland in 1757, and he served as a militia colonel during the American Revolutionary War. He served in the House of Delegates from 1785 to 1791 and in the US House of Representatives from 1795 to 1797 and from 1799 to 1803, and he moved to Zanesville, Ohio in 1806 and served in the State House from 1809 to 1812 and in the State Senate from 1817 to 1819. He died in 1831.
