George Gale (3 June 1756 – 2 January 1815) was a member of the US House of Representatives (F-MD) from 4 March 1789 to 3 March 1791, preceding William Vans Murray.
Biography[]
George Gale was born in Maryland in 1756, and he served in the Continental Army during the American Revolutionary War before helping to ratify the US Constitution in 1788. He went on to serve in the US House of Representatives from 1789 to 1791 as a Federalist, and he served as supervisor of distilled liquors of Maryland. He died in 1815, and his son Levin Gale also became a congressman.
