George Dionysius Tillman (21 August 1826-2 February 1902) was a member of the US House of Representatives (D-SC 5) from 4 March 1879 to 19 July 1882 (interrupting Robert Smalls' terms) and from SC-2 from 4 March 1883 to 3 March 1893 (succeeding Edmund W.M. Mackey and preceding W. Jasper Talbert).

Biography[]

George Dionysius Tillman was born in Curryton, South Carolina in 1826, and he served in the 3rd South Carolina Infantry Regiment and the 2nd South Carolina Artillery during the American Civil War. He also served in the state house from 1854 to 1855 and in 1864, as a state senator in 1865, and in the US House of Representatives from 1879 to 1882 and from 1883 to 1893, and he died in 1902.
