George C. Washington

George Corbin Washington (20 August 1789-17 July 1854) was a member of the US House of Representatives (NR-MD 3) from 4 March 1827 to 3 March 1833 (succeeding George Peter and preceding James Turner and from MD-5 from 4 March 1835 to 3 March 1837 (succeeding Isaac McKim and preceding William Cost Johnson). Born in Westmoreland County, Virginia, Washington was a grandnephew of George Washington as the grandson of both Augustine Washington Jr. and John Augustine Washington. A resident of Georgetown, he served in the House of Delegates from 1816 to 1819, in Congress, and later as a Know Nothing vice-presidential candidate in 1852 before their candidate Daniel Webster's death resulted in Jacob Broom and Reynell Coates being put forth as the new ticket.
