George Brooks (1743-1778) was a British Army captain who was stationed in British-occupied Manhattan during the American Revolutionary War. In 1778, he was ordered to oversee the execution of several patriot sympathizers by firing squad, but Ratonhnhake:ton assassinated all of the British soldiers before they could do so.
